Experts say that Hungarian geese produce the best down in the world. Accordingly, our Ultimate Hungarian duvet is stuffed with 100% White Hungarian Goose Down. Watch out for pretenders that include feather - it won't give the same lofty lightness.
This Ultimate Hungarian is ideal for Winter (13.5 Tog). Featuring cassette construction, a pure cotton cover and cord edging, every duvet is guaranteed for 10 years.
For pure luxury, look no further. The Ultimate is the Dom Perignon of duvets: exquisitely made and utterly irresistible, whatever the time of day.
The Ultimate is filled with 100% genuine Hungarian Goose Down - making it the world's finest duvet. That's a dramatic claim. How can we be so confident? Well, real Hungarian Goose Down is widely recognised as the perfect filling for duvets. It's light and airy with exceptional warmth retention - like sleeping under cover of clouds. It's also very difficult to find (and there are a lot of pretenders out there). Our Ultimate Duvet is stuffed with 100% Hungarian Goose Down - no fillers, no nonsense. It's then covered with luxurious cotton jacquard, stitched to hold the filling in place, and edged with silver piping. If you want to make your bed the finest place in the house, there's only one choice.
It's all in the filling. The Ultimate Hungarian duvet has 100% white Hungarian Goose down as opposed to the Luxury Hungarian duvet which has 90% white Hungarian Goose down and 10% small white Hungarian Goose feather. The net result is that the Ultimate Hungarian duvet is lighter for the same level of warmth as the Luxury Hungarian duvet.
The clusters of down from Hungarian geese have longer filaments, making each cluster greater in volume than the down from other geese. We therefore need less down to get the same warmth retention in the duvet resulting in the Hungarian duvets being lighter. Additionally the quality of the down is better ensuring the duvet remains plump and filled for longer.
Our duvets are sold in three warmth categories, defined as Tog rating in the UK. The higher the tog, the warmer the duvet. As a guide, we recommend 4.5 tog duvets for summer, 9.0 tog duvets for Spring and Autumn and the 13.5 tog duvet for winter. The choice of tog will depend on how warm your bedroom is and how warm a sleeper you are. To ensure you are comfortable under all conditions, the All Seasons is the answer.
If you are not sure what tog duvet is best suited for you, the All Season duvet is the answer. Essentially it is two duvets which can be buttoned together. A 4.5 tog for Summer and a 9.0 tog for Spring and Autumn. When combined the result is a 13.5 tog duvets for Winter.
All our duvets are manufactured with a cassette construction. This means that the casing in divided up into pockets into which the filling is placed. This ensures the filling does not move around ensuring an even spread of insulation and no cold patches.
Each cassette mentioned above is actually a three dimensional box with the internal baffle wall providing the height between the top and bottom casing. This gap ensures the filling can expand right up to the edges of the cassette providing maximum insulation without being restricted.
With our 13.5 tog duvets, we take the baffle wall right to the edge, ensuring maximum insulation and warmth to the edge of the duvet. As the 4.5 tog and 9.0 tog duvets require a seam for buttons and button holes, there is not external baffle wall on duvets with these togs.
All duvets have a corded edge with double stitching around the duvet perimeter to ensure that the filling says where we put it - in the duvet for your comfort!
Say farewell to lumpy-duvet syndrome. Because it's so fine and light, Hungarian Goose Down never clumps, and the stitched construction ensures that filling is evenly distributed. Our duvets retain their freshly-made plumpness from day 1 to day 1,000. The manufacturer's guarantee certifies it.
