If your mattress is saggy, don't buy a new one - first try a topper. It will add a super-comfortable layer of loveliness. But which one should you choose? Here's our five-minute guide to help you pick the best one for you. When choosing a topper, it's important to look at these four things.

Topper Size

Well, this one's simple - choose a topper to fit your bed. We've got Single, Double, King and Superking in stock and ready for shipping. It's important to match the size to your bed - unlike duvets, which you can scale up - because our toppers feature elasticated corner straps to hold them snugly in place.

Topper Range

Here's where it becomes more complicated. You can choose a natural or man-made filling, depending on what you like and whether you suffer from allergies. Our Goose Down Dual Chamber Topper is the best we make. We spent a number of years developing it, talking to our customers to find out what they really wanted. The innovative dual-chamber structure provides a firm inner core and a soft and slumber-inducing outer layer.

If your budget is restrictive, then Duck Feather & Down is the topper for you. Crammed with 90% duck feather (and 10% duck down), it offers a blissful layer of support that cushions your body all night. This was our favourite topper for years - just take a look at the compliments we've received about it!

Man-made fillings: The name isn't terribly compelling, but what's in them certainly is. Our gorgeous Microfibre range is packed with super-fine fibres to make a sumptuous, hypoallergenic and breathable topper. Careful construction and a 10-year guarantee makes it the best on the market.

If you're looking for serious support, then you'll have heard of Memory Foam. This high-tech material was designed for NASA and is now used to provide specialist spine and neck relief. Our Memory Foam toppers have been getting rave reviews from customers. They soften under your body to provide customised sleeping support.

Topper Density

If you've chosen a Memory Foam topper, you'll have an extra decision to make - what density do you need? The greater the density, the more firm and supportive the topper will be. It'll also be more durable, keeping its original properties for far longer.

Classic Memory Foam Toppers have a medium-high density of 50kg/m3; Luxury Memory Foam Toppers weigh 85kg/m3. (Watch out for manufacturers who put additives in their Memory Foam products - we don't - to artificially boost their density.)

Topper Depth

Another matter of personal choice. For a really tired old mattress, choose our Luxury Goose Down Dual Chamber or Luxury Memory Foam - both with an astonishing depth of 7cm. If you want something a little shallower, our Duck Feather Topper and Classic Memory Foam Topper both measure about 5cm from top to bottom.
