Memory Foam

Memory Foam is a brilliant material - sleep on it and you'll get less pressure on your joints, improved circulation, and less stiffness, without having to lift a finger! But buying Memory Foam isn't exactly simple. You have to navigate the different types of toppers and pillows, and circumvent the fakes that flood the market.

DAPW Memory Foam is manufactured to our usual high standards. It's pure Visco-elastic Memory Foam, without additives, and at the right density to deliver the physical benefits you want.

If you have any more questions, or you'd like personal advice, just drop us a line at info@dapw.co.uk - one of our Memory Foam experts will get right back to you.

When shopping for Memory Foam, it's important to understand the basics.

Memory Foam Shapes and Sizes

If you're looking for a topper, this is a simple choice: we offer Memory Foam toppers in the standard Single, Double, King and Superking sizes. However, pillows are slightly more complicated.

You can get the Standard size - the same as your typical feather pillow. But if your neck or spine are causing you problems, or if your physiotherapist has recommended a contoured shape, then take a look at our Neck and Contour pillows. The curved Neck pillow is designed to give your neck all-round support, while the Contour pillow will correct your sleeping posture by raising your neck and keeping your spine straight.

Memory Foam Density

This is the most important figure you'll see on your Memory Foam product label. Density is a measurement of the product's weight per m3. The higher the density, the firmer your memory foam pillow or topper will be. It will be heavier and harder to compress - providing better support for your joints.

A low-density topper will also deteriorate more quickly than a high-density one. So look for at least 50kg/m3, and base your decision on how firm you like your sleeping surface.

You should also be aware that some manufacturers use additives to make their Memory Foam seem heavier than it is. These additives can actually restrict the performance of the Memory Foam, and they may also decrease its expected life-span. DAPW Memory Foam is made without additives of any kind, so you'll get the full benefits of this wonder-material.

We offer a choice of density across our Memory Foam ranges. For Toppers, you can choose between Classic (50kg/m3; 5cm deep) and Luxury (75kg/m3; 7cm deep). For Pillows, Classic weighs 85kg/m3 and Luxury 90kg/m3.

Memory Foam Depth

Memory Foam Toppers have been shown to reduce pressure on your joints. If you sleep on an ordinary mattress, you're probably feeling greater pressure on the heavier parts of your body, which can compress blood vessels and inhibit circulation.

A Memory Foam topper remedies this, flexing beneath your body to reduce the resistance against heavy joints. A deeper topper will be required by physically heavier sleepers. If you're unsure about body weight and topper depth, just drop us a line.
