Back to Duvet and Pillow Warehouse

At Duvet and Pillow Warehouse, we seem to find everything there is to know about the world behind the bedroom door, and we mean everything!

Our daily blog posts don’t just hover around bed covers, pillows and advice and information on bedding, we look at everything funny, cool, bizarre, strange, weird, ugly and pretty to give you a laugh, cry, smile, shock or surprise.

Well we have really taken this blog post for a spin when it comes to the world of bedrooms! We found this Australian hyperrealist sculptor that has taken the world by storm with his fantastic and realistic sculptures of the human body.

He reproduces the minute detail of the human body, playing with the scale to create disconcertingly jarring visual images.

And like you have probably guess already, we found the life like sculptures of people in bed the best by far! We do have a life outside of our job, it’s just we find everything there is to know about beds interesting and want to tell you all about it too.

Here are a couple of pics that took our fancy.

Well just to make you a little bit jealous this summer we have found some stunning bedrooms from around the globe for you to drool over.

From light and airy bedrooms to luxurious dark wood dreams, you will not be able to decide which one that you want when you set your eyes on these.

This stunning light and airy bedroom with the white washed bedding and lilac walls creates a sense of tranquility and peace…Jealous!

bedroom-with-tub

We love this bedroom! A hot tub and a bed all in one. :-) Although we don’t know really how we would feel if our partner decided to get a wash at 6am for work when we only had to be in at 10am! But for this room we can make sacrifices.

wooden-room

This beautiful classically designed bedroom is very elegant in its style and the green and dark browns compliment each other well to make a room fit for a King and Queen.

Although it may be quite costly to re-design our own bedrooms to look like the one’s above, there are many bedding shops which sell beautiful duvet sets of all colours and styles to recreate that luxury bedroom of your choice.

And the bedding products don’t have to be so expensive either. If you take a trip down to Duvet and Pillow Warehouse, you buy a wide range of bedding accessories, from bedding pillows to memory foam mattresses.

1. Determine how you sleep at night and how you set up your pillows before heading into the land of nod. This will give you a good idea of what type of support your neck and back needs while you sleep.

2. If you sleep on your side you might want long feathered pillowsto snuggle up to and one under your head that isn’t as fluffy to give you a little bit of support.

3. If you sleep on your stomach a flat pillow would suit you best to keep your back in alignment as well as offering just enough support for your neck.

4. If you sleep on your back you may like to snuggle up on a feathered pillow similar to a huge feather bed.

5. Search for fabulous discounts on the Internet. Duvet and Pillow Warehouse are offering up to 60 percent off some of their bedding pillows, including memory foam pillows and feathered pillows.

6. Do you vary your sleeping position? If you do, you may want to vary the types of pillow you have on your bed and choose which bedding pillows you use each and every night.

7. If you have recently had surgery or need extra support in bed, you many need a specific type of pillow that will conform to your body. The best pillow for this is a memory foam pillow which conforms to the shape of your neck and head giving you full support while you sleep.

8. The more pillows the merrier when it comes to pregnant woman. Women who are heavily pregnant need as much support as they can get when it comes to sleep and feathered pillows may be an option to consider.

9. If you suffer from back pain you may want to sleep on your back with a pillow under your knees or on your side with a bedding pillow between your knees.

10. If you suffer from a lot of allergies you can purchase special pillows which minimise your allergies to give you that perfect night’s sleep. Look out for hypoallergenic pillows or microfibre pillows on Duvet and Pillow Warehouse.

Everyone loves the idea of a large spacious room complete with a large bed, luxury bedroom furniture, large windows which open up onto a balcony overlooking stunning views….but that really is a life most of us can only dream of.

Many of us are stuck in small poxy bedrooms were we have to shuffle around the bed to get to the door, or we have to share a bedroom with our beloved sibling who is really messy and talks in their sleep.

Whatever the situation the scenarios can be a nightmare but we would like you to spare a thought for some of these poor souls.

Now when you think of a bedroom you think ‘Oh well it will have a bed, a wardrobe, possibly a desk at least’…wrong! Take a look at some of these teeny weeny bedrooms and be thankful for what you have got.

Smallest Bedroom One

smallest-bedroom-3

Oh my days this poor person has a decent sized bedroom and instead they have put in a double bed instead of a single. May be they move around a lot in bed or may be it is a couple and a single is obviously too small but this is insane. You would have to be a twig to walk to the other side of the bed as that gap looks pretty thin!

Smallest Bed Two

smallest-bedroom-1

Oh my days this poor man doesn’t even have a room. Just a tube with a mattress in and a door that he has to climb out of. What a shame. Lets just hope that the bedding products are a memory foam mattress and a feathered pillow to make it that little more homely.

smallest-bedroom-2

Oh my days what an earth can you do with this room? You can even fit a bed in it let alone a wardrobe or desk. :-( We feel sad for the person who draws the short straw with this room.

To end on a high note for this week and give you a few laughs, we have found five funny beds from around the world.

1. On the pull

On the pull...let them know!

On the pull...let them know!

This bed is fabulously funny but you wouldn’t happy if you were the gal/guy being brought back to it! I can’t imagine you would feel very…special!
2. Karma Sutra eat your heart out
Just so delightful and elegant!

Pretty funky idea and definitely fits but can’t imagine you would let your guests stay over in this room, they would think you were mental!
3. Under cover!

This duvet cover is lovely for those underwater lovers.
4. I don’t share

This is my side and that is yours

This is my side and that is yours

I love this duvet but it definitely doesn’t scream out, “We love each other loads.” Definitely something you should have to drag out of the cupboard when you and your partner have a fall out though! Not too sure about why there is only one bedding pillow though, kind of defeats the whole object!

As lovely as this sounds, we would be expecting luxury feather pillows, memory foam mattresses, or even better white goose down pillows and we are only just starting here…

expensive-bedroom-2

This absolutely stunning bedroom apartment is based in Santa Monica and worth a measly $8.2 million. Two stories high, three bedrooms and a 3.5 bath ocean foot dwelling. Even though the weather may be better over there, we would still like a luxury duvet thrown in as well thank you very much.

This stunning hotel bedroom is situated in the heart of Melbourne and comprises of a living room, bedroom and bathroom. Located on the top floor of the hotel it has its own lift and lobby, with a 24 hour butler and access to the exclusive Crystal Club. To buy your own little life of luxury visit Duvet and Pillow Warehousetoday, buy some luxury bedding products and accessories, stick a poster of George Clooney and Tom Cruise on your wall, put a paddling pool in your room and sip a home made cocktail….it’s exactly the same!

When you go on holiday or for a short break away, it can be a pretty of a let down/nightmare if your hotel room is an absolute shambles.

Picture the scenario: You have travelled hundreds of miles with a family filled car shouting “Are we there yet?” to arrive to a poxy caravan which “sleeps 8″ but in reality sleeps four size 2 people. Disaster!

Well to perk up your day and give you a taster of some of the bedroom treats out there, we have found some cool hotel bedrooms which won’t leave you running to customer services.

Experience the outdoors..without actually sleeping outdoors

Some of us love the outdoors and like the idea of camping out in the wild and getting back to nature…however some of us will never do it.

Some of us just can’t leave our memory foam mattress or feathered pillowsfor one night and would much prefer to be shacked up in a 5 * hotel than a measly tent in the forest.

However, Austrian designer Andreas Strauss built these pipe-like tent featuring either a single, double bed with a light, storage space, power, a woolly blanket and a light cotton sleeping bag. Not exactly 5 * but definitely better than a tent.

Freeze Yourself To Sleep

When you think of bedtime you don’t usually think ‘Oh yes I cannot wait to get into my ‘ice cold’ bed with lovely ice cubes all around me’.

If you do not only are your WEIRD, you also need to think about visiting the Igloo Hotel.

We can imagine this would be fun for one night (or one hour) but I can’t really say that it would be something I would adopt in my own room. Each to there own I guess.

Cold as Ice...Sorry!

Cold as Ice...Sorry!

Capsule Bedrooms

Well we can sort of forgive igloo hotels and other random styles as to be honest it is rather a cool idea and can be a bit of a novelty, but this idea is just ridiculous.

I say this because who in their right mind would check into a capsule for a good nights sleep is beyond me. Just choose a cheaper hotel if you are saving on cost don’t subject yourself to a small cabin.

Capsule Rooms...Spacious!

Floating Bed

As much as we would like to think it was floating, it really isn’t! This floating bed is simply supported by a single beam attached to the wall. The guy on this bed has clearly got too much time on his hands and has really got sucked in by the advertising of the floating bed. Oh well, each to their own!

For all the book lovers out there this bed is probably the best for you. Designed in Tokyo the bed was named the Uroko house and is perfect for young children who love to hide away and build dens in their bedrooms.

Literally the coolest bed I have ever seen! Complete with a projector the screen allows you to watch movies, TV and browse the Internet.
Ferrari of all beds

Ferrari of all beds

And without evening mentioning the price for most of these fantastic beds, you can probably already see that they are rather costly. If these are pretty much out of your budget (which I think for most of us it is!) then find new ways of getting the best bedroom on the block. If you can’t do it with design buy bedding pillows of high quality such as feather pillows and be known as having the comfiest bed in the house.
If feathers don’t tickle your fancy be the best in the house and buy a memory foam mattress topper for your bed. That way you will have the best night’s sleep, the most support on your muscles and joints and the cosiest bed there can be.
