Some of us just can’t get to sleep at night without our teddy bear by our side and so German artist Bettina Kaminski created “Mini the Pooh”. At just 5 mm tall, it is the world’s smallest Teddy Bear! Very very cute but you couldn’t really snuggle up to it at night.

Ever heard of a flashmob event? It’s where people turn up in a public place and all suddenly start doing something funny at the same time, like singing, dancing… or having a pillow fight!

An estimated 400 pillow fighters joined in a melee of flying feathers in the centre of Plymouth on Saturday, organised through social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

University student Jessi Dimmock, 20, said: “Everyone was having a laugh, it was just great fun. It shows the power of social networking sites to organise something like this without advertising.

“I also think it’s like an art form, but mainly it’s about getting people together in a peaceful, fun way.”

It was dubbed the ‘World’s Largest Pillow Fight’ but in the end, it simply proved that pillows are a pride and joy and too good to be beaten into submission!

The attempt to enter the Guinness World Record for the largest Pillow Fight failed when punters decided to stay in bed with their pillows rather than expose them to a cold, drizzly morning in Penang.

Although the organisers had expected the participation of 4,500 people, only some 500 people turned up at the Penang Times Square at noon Saturday.

Organising chairman Tommy Ooi said the current record holder is a Children In Need event in Mineshead, Somerset in United Kingdom, where more than 3,700 people battled in a pillow fight last year.

It’s really rubbish when you don’t have a games console but all your friends have and you have not a penny in the bank to buy one of your own.

To make it feel like you have a little bit of something you may possibly want to consider these Nintendo consoles pillows.

They look cool, but will possibly get a little boring after a day or two and you will probably crave the real thing once again.

Chinese Stone Pillow

Chinese Stone Pillow

Do you like hard pillows or soft pillows? This might be a random question to ask but it may just depend on where you grew up!

Homemade pillows were used in ancient Egypt, medieval Europe and early America. In the mid 19th century, the Industrial Revolution and the evolving textile industry changed the way pillows were produced.

From homemade and hand-embroidered, they became machine-made. Bed pillows were stuffed with goose down or feathers to make them more cosy and comfortable.

However, in China pillows were very different. First they were smooth stones and later, by the late sixth century, they were rectangular blocks made of wood, jade, bronze, procelain or other ceramics. Most had a curved top surface for the head.

Porcelain pillows were made from the 10th to the 14th century, then were gradually replaced by pillows of other materials or even European-style stuffed pillows. Porcelain and other hard pillows were decorated with animals, plants, people and mountains and even geometric designs. Some had colourful glazes. Many were shaped like animals or small children.

Many collectors today do not realise that the decorated rectangles were pillows or headrests. They are sometimes called ‘opium pillows’ because opium users liked to lie on their sides using hard pillows. They claimed after smoking opium for a while, even a hard pillow felt ‘like a cloud.’

Nowadays it is hard to find the very old, hard pillows, but 19th-and 20th century replicas are available. The pillow shaped like a child is so popular as a decorative item that it is still being made.

For more details about buying your very own comfy soft pillow visit Duvet and Pillow Warehouse today.

We thought we would post this rather strange and obscure bedding pillow that has been designed to breathe with you while you sleep to allow you to have the perfect night’s sleep each and every night.

The concept is very cool but we think it is a little bit too freaky for our liking and are going to instead stick to our feather pillows and memory foam pillows at Duvet and Pillow Warehouse.

duvet-stealerA single mother who stole two duvet sets from a supermarket has been fined £50.

Gertrude Cele, 26, tried to get vouchers from Asda in Burnden by picking up two duvets, worth £70, and attempting to trade them in at customer services, Bolton magistrates heard yesterday.

When her attempt failed, mother of three Cele, who is on benefits, tried to walk out of the shop without paying.

Cele was caught on CCTV and arrested at her home in Monks Lane, Tonge Moor, where police found one of the duvets after a search.

She pleaded guilty to the shop lifting and was fined £50 as well as being ordered to pay £35 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

We think Cele should’ve saved up a bit of cash and visited Duvet and Pillow Warehouse for her duvet covers as this autumn the team have slashed the prices of their bedding products, selling high quality products for low prices.
