Here at Duvet and Pillow Warehouse HQ we have been super excited all week looking forward to this weekend, as tomorrow is International Pillow Fight Day!
Massive pillow fights in cities around the world will be taking place and you can get involved and have fun too in the UK, at Trafalgar Square in London.
Get those pillows at the ready and swing and whack into as many people as you can, making as many feathers fly into the air as possible.
Take the family down and have a fun day out learning more about the urban playground movement; soar your pillows and teddies into the air and witness a giant urban pillow fight; you will never see anything like it ever.
But whatever you do play by the rules; wait for the signal, take soft pillows and keep violence or bad behaviour to a minimal.
If you wear glasses make sure you take them off beforehand and whatever you do. Don’t whack your pillow at a person with a camera; you don’t want to break anything accidently.
Kick off the public square in style with loud air horns, chimes and bells and cloud the air with hundreds of fluffy feathers.
However, the ideal pillow fight leaves no traces that it ever occurred so make sure you help to clean up afterwards!

We all love snuggling into bed and night into our warm duvet. As soon as our head hits the pillow we can feel ourselves drifting off into a peaceful sleep, not thinking about the thought of getting up for work the next day.
However, that isn't how all of us feel.
Our bed is meant to be the safe haven of where you want to be after a night out, if you are ill, upset or feeling very tired, yet why do we fill it with rubbish bedding pillows that do nothing for our comfort and support?
Well at Duvet and Pillow Warehouse, we have come up with some top ideas to make sure that you know which pillows are the best to buy in order for you to get that perfect night's sleep.
Feather pillows and down pillows, such as goose down pillows are usually the most comfortable but also the most expensive.
The question is, which one should you go for?
- If you want to feel like you are resting on a cloud a 100 per cent down pillow is the way to go.
- If a slightly firmer feel is preferable, go for a blend of feathers and down.
- If you are looking for that complete firm pillow then 100 per cent feather pillow is highly recommended.
- From time to time, bedding pillows do get dirty and need to be regularly washed to reduce dust mites and other bacterial like dead skin. Most bedding pillows can be washed in the washing machine on a gentle cycle and dried in the tumble dryer on a low heat. Some people suggest putting a tennis ball or pair of CLEAN trainers in the machine too to help beat out any clumps that may have formed during washing.
- And if your pillows aren't dirty but just need fluffing, place them in the dryer on low heat with a damp washcloth.

A feathered pillow is one of the most comfortable luxurious comforts when it comes to bedding products.
Man
y people find that they have a more peaceful and relaxing night's sleep but don't know how to look after them to help them keep their shape.
Feather pillows require more care than normal bedding pillows and Duvet and Pillow Warehouse have come up with some great steps to help you look after those fluffy pillows.
1. Washing Machine
Don't be afraid to use your washing machine to wash your feather pillows. Place them in your washing machine two at a time in order to keep the load even and place the setting on either cold or warm.
2. Detergent
Don't over do on the detergent and reduce the amount you use with the feather pillows.
3. Use trainers to reshape
This may be a funny way of cleaning your feather pillows, but it does work. Make sure they are clean (obviously) and add them to the dryer when placing your pillows in to dry. This will reduce the lumps and maximise the fluff of pillows as the trainers gently beat the pillows as they tumble.
Make sure the dryer is on the lowest setting and stop it every so often to manually fluff them and then place back inside the dryer. Feather pillows generally need more time to be cleaned and dried than other bedding pillows, but the time spent on them will be worth it in the end.
5. Dry Cleaners
And if you really don't trust yourself to do it right or don't have the time to get it done, you can send them to the dry cleaners and they can do all the hard work for you.
If you are looking to buy feathered pillows or any type of bedding pillows visit Duvet and Pillow Warehouse today.

Feathered pillows have been around for centuries but do you think that one deserves to be in your home?
We at Duvet and Pillow Warehouse have compiled a list of advantages and disadvantages about feathered pillows and whether they will be of use to you.
Advantages
Feather pillows are known for being soft, cuddly and flexible. They mould to your head and neck reasonably well and provide more support than down. The pillows are also designed to provide head and neck support where and when you need it by scrunching up the pillow into a position that suits you.
They are known as the most durable pillows around and will last for many years with reasonable care. Feathered pillows can usually be machine washed or dried. They are considered a strong value because they often last so long.
Feather pillows weigh very little, in fact they usually weigh no more than a pound or two.
Disadvantages
After a while feather pillows can sink to some degree and don't often maintain significant support throughout the night.
From this, you many find that you are constantly adjusting the pillow, fluffing and shaking it during the night.
The hard quills of the feathers can often be noticed through the case and can sometimes poke through. You many also notice a crunching-like noise when the pillows are compressed because the feathers can contain hard parts or because the pillows have a plastic layer to prevent the feathers from poking through.
Also, feather pillows are known to have an odour due to the chemicals used to sanitise the feathers.

Most of us start the week eating healthily and drinking lots of water, but by the end end of the week are sprawled on the couch with a massive hangover eating cooked breakfasts and takeaway food galore.
Well we thought we would combine the dodgy hangover and scrumptious stodge food and find some food bedding pillows to crash out on after a mad weekend on the tiles.
Cooked Breakfast

Full Fry Up for that banging headache!
These cool food pillows are perfect for those hangover days when all you want to eat is greasy food to soak up the alcohol. Just make sure you are feeling hungry and not sickly as we can only imagine the thought of food could turn your stomach on a night out, let alone lying on it!
Sushi Pillows

Something fishy going on here!...Sorry we couldn't help ourselves!
These sushi pillows are a fabulous accessory to have in a sushi restaurant entrance foyer or even in your own home if you really are into your fish but we aren't so sure they add a touch of glamour!
Pizza Pillow

Hey, I ordered a vegetarian pizza!
We love this Pizza pillow and think it is fabulous accessory to throw onto a bed, chair, sofa, etc.
Chicken Leg Pillow

Nice Leg!
Well everyone loves a bit of chicken and this pillow is no exception! We would definitely advise you to keep it out of the dogs way though, we can only imagine you coming home from work to a bedroom full off feathers! Luckily we don't mean a live chicken's ones!

As the weekend approaches, many of us will be looking forward to a nice lie in or suffering from a hang over in bed after a messy one the night before.
Well before the weekend starts, we have found some fab and funky bedding pillows which you would want scattered all over your bed!
Happy Sleeping!

Very Rock and Roll
These funky pillows are installed with an MP3 letting the rock and roll come out while you sleep!

- A bed fit for a king
If it says King then he must be a king, it is as simple as that! And who is going to argue with him!

- Legs Eleven
We have to admit we were slightly disturbed when we saw this pillow, so we just had to show you as well! What the hell is this? If you went to a guy's house and you saw he had one of these as a pillow you would definitely be using your legs to run out the door!

- Safe and Secure in your own bed
These pillows are a replica of a condom and are pretty funny. Just make sure they go the back of the wardrobe when your little bro or sister comes into your room, you don't want them telling the whole family at a function that you have condoms all over your bed! Possibly won't go down very well!

1. Determine how you sleep at night and how you set up your pillows before heading into the land of nod. This will give you a good idea of what type of support your neck and back needs while you sleep.
2. If you sleep on your side you might want long feathered pillowsto snuggle up to and one under your head that isn't as fluffy to give you a little bit of support.
3. If you sleep on your stomach a flat pillow would suit you best to keep your back in alignment as well as offering just enough support for your neck.
4. If you sleep on your back you may like to snuggle up on a feathered pillow similar to a huge feather bed.
5. Search for fabulous discounts on the Internet. Duvet and Pillow Warehouse are offering up to 60 percent off some of their bedding pillows, including memory foam pillows and feathered pillows.
6. Do you vary your sleeping position? If you do, you may want to vary the types of pillow you have on your bed and choose which bedding pillows you use each and every night.
7. If you have recently had surgery or need extra support in bed, you many need a specific type of pillow that will conform to your body. The best pillow for this is a memory foam pillow which conforms to the shape of your neck and head giving you full support while you sleep.
8. The more pillows the merrier when it comes to pregnant woman. Women who are heavily pregnant need as much support as they can get when it comes to sleep and feathered pillows may be an option to consider.
9. If you suffer from back pain you may want to sleep on your back with a pillow under your knees or on your side with a bedding pillow between your knees.
10. If you suffer from a lot of allergies you can purchase special pillows which minimise your allergies to give you that perfect night's sleep. Look out for hypoallergenic pillows or microfibre pillows on Duvet and Pillow Warehouse.

Waking up in the morning with neck or back ache can often mean that the pillow you are sleeping on is too hard or too soft.
A persons preference differs from one to the next. Some people like their bedding pillows to be firm and supportive while others prefer a pillow with a soft and fluffy feel to it. This decision really comes to down to the way you sleep at night.
Before you purchase your new bedding pillow, look at how you sleep. Do you sleep on your back, side or front, or a combination of all three positions? How does your neck and back feel when you wake up?
There are a wide range of different types of bedding pillow all which give varying levels of firmness. They are;
Goose Down Feather Pillows or Duck Feather Pillows - For a medium to soft feel.
Microfibre Pillows and Hollowfibre Pillows - For a medium to firm feel.
Memory Foam Pillows -For a supportive firm feel.
Goose Down Pillows
Goose or duck down feathered pillows are renowned for their ultimate luxurious feel. The delicate yet substantial feathered filling offers a medium to soft feel that adjusts itself to the contours of the neck and spine.
Warm pockets of air are trapped by the soft down which gives the pillow that lightweight airy feel you can really sink into while still offering support exactly where it is needed.
Micro Fibre Pillows
Allergies can be a nightmare when you are trying to sleep. If you or any member of your family suffer from any allergy or asthma, natural filling like down and feather is definitely a no go.
Micro Fibre pillows are made from a highly compressed synthetic fibre that has an air pocket running through the length of it. The material is as warm and comfortable as goose down pillows as the air is pumped into each fibre during the spinning process, however microfibre pillows are highly breathable and have a more economical price tag.
Hollow Fibre Pillows
Hollow Fibre is a hypoallergenic material which is very light and fluffy. The pillow gives a light to medium firm feel to the pillow and is perfect for asthma sufferers and children as it is completely man made and non-allergenic. The bonus about hollow fibre pillows is that they are generally better at maintaining their shape and loft than natural fill pillows are.
Memory Foam Pillows
Memory Foam Pillows were the original answer for people who suffer from neck and back problems. The bedding pillows give a firm and supportive feel as well as being very comfortable to sleep on.
Memory Foam was used by astronauts in space and is an amazing material that spreads out evenly whenever pressure is applied to it. The material is heat sensitive and will shape itself to your body no matter which way you lie. If you move around a lot in your sleep the foam will gradually return to its original shape and conform to your new sleeping position.
Memory foam pillows are said to help people who suffer with insomnia, sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.
