We love bedrooms at Duvet and Pillow Warehouse and love to see what’s going on in the world of interior design and how people are furnishing and decorating their bedrooms.

From the modern to the contemporary look, we love it all and make sure we are updated with the latest styles and trends in the home interior world.

However with the good comes the bad, with the beautiful comes the ugly and with the creative comes the way out there designs.

While scouring the World Wide Web, we come across these rather wacky designs that we think are fab!

Outside looking outside

Two Brazilian artist lived like this for four months during 2009. Their bedroom featured a bed, hammock, sofa, potted plant, chest of drawers situated on the outside wall of a building in Rio de Janeiro. Luckily the pair didn’t expose all of their daily living and scrambled over the wall to use the bathroom in the neighbouring art gallery.

Bed in a box

A Japanese company designed this folding bedroom to allow apartment owners to make more space around their home. Designed for urban living, the idea was to fold down necessary furniture without compromising on form or functionality.

The rather bizarre but very practical design is a great way to create more space in a room, however we are not too sure how comfy those mattresses will be and would definitely have to opt for a memory foam pillow or memory foam mattress topper to sleep on each night.

Mirror room

From Propeller Island City Lodge in Berlin, this Mirror Room is diamond-shaped and lined top to bottom with mirrors created a kaleidoscope effect.

While rather cool and very retro, we are not too sure that waking up would be a easy task, especially having to see your own face in the morning staring back at you!

Whatever your style make sure that your room is super comfortable with a goose down duvet or memory mattress topper from Duvet and Pillow Warehouse.

The online duvet store has a wide selection of bedroom furnishings that are sure to suit your needs and requirements.

Budget hotel group, Travelodge is to host the country’s first sleep concert, with the sole aim of sending its audience into a deep sleep.

Some of the biggest musicians will gather at th London City Road Travelodge at lunchtime on July 20th to hear works by Mozart, Bach, Michael Buble and Snow Patrol. All participants will be given duvets, eyemasks and pillows.

The dozy idea comes after its annual Sleep and Professions study, which listed the top ten professionals who suffered from the most sleep deprivation. The results showed that 75 per cent of Britain’s workforce are not getting their recommended eight hours of sleep.

Civil servants bankers, factory workers, doctors and teachers were the worst affected.

Travelodge sleep director, Leigh McCarron, said, “Sleep concerts have been a great success in Japan where stressed-out workers will pay £50 for the privilege of nodding off to a live music performance.

“This idea has inspired us to create our own UK version, giving exhausted workers the opportunity to relax, take a nap and feel revitalised, resulting in improved physical, mental and emotional health.”

If you are struggling to get a good night’s sleep and need a comfortable solution to the problem then visit Duvet and Pillow Warehouse today to view their extensive range of duvets, pillows and mattress toppers to make your sleep a good one.

Here at the duvet and pillow warehouse we stock a huge range of duvets and pillows in a range of materials, however for the hot summer months, our silk range is the most popular for getting a comfortable night’s sleep in the warm and stuffy weather, much better than trying to sleep under a feather, down or synthetic fibre duvet.

Here are five reasons for choosing a silk-filled duvet

1. Silk is light and soft and allows your skin to breathe – allowing excess moisture to escape. Silk duvets assist in regulating your body temperature by keeping you warm in winter, and cool in summer.

2. The criss-cross layers of silk enhance ventilation, resulting in a much more comfortable and restful night’sleep.

3. Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and dust mites can’t live in silk duvets, so you will not suffer from allergic reactions or require a dust-mite encasing on your duvet.

4. Though the silk duvet filling is formed of many layers of criss-crossed silk fibres, the silk floss filling is so fine that the duvet is very thin and light.

5. Silk duvets rarely need cleaning as they are dust mite free.

The winter and its heavy snow is now long gone, and these lovely sundrenched days are getting longer and longer – it is clear that summer is finally on its way, lets just hope it stays for longer than it did last year!

But with long, hot and sunny days of summer, come even longer and uncomfortable, sticky and stuffy night’s sleep, so you need to start thinking about how the rise in temperature may affect your sleep at night.

Summer nights are when we find it hardest to get a good night’s sleep, never mind even falling asleep in the first place.

Here at Duvet and Pillow Warehouse our best advice is to invest in a new light weight duvet for the warm summer nights, we advise you to choose a wool filled duvet or a silk duvet, as these are natural materials to regulate temperature throughout the night.

When buying a duvet, you will find many different types and variations throughout duvets that are available for purchase, this can range from colors and fabrics to the types of feathers used in the duvets.

You also need to consider the up keep of your duvet, some duvets and pillows can be washed in your washing machine with no problems, but others can only be dry cleaned, so you need to think about the expense of dry cleaning on a monthly basis – this is how often we advise people to wash duvets.

Here at the duvet and pillow warehouse, we are pretty sure that we have never heard a goose complaining about being cold… have you?! No, we didn’t think so!

This is because geese have fluffy thick feathers that keep them warm, even in cold weather! Goose feathers are thick and insulating, but they are still breathable and lightweight – making them a perfect choice for your duvet bedding!

Goose down duvets are great for bedding as the goose feathers grow thicker and create larger clusters when used for goose down quilts and bedding, which means you have a high quality duvet and also the goose down feathers have no odor unlike other feather used for bedding such as duck feathers.

If you suffer from feather allergies sometimes it is best to choose a hypoallergenic duvet, such as an hungarian goose down duvet which is made from goose down feathers and milkweed – so you can snuggle up in comfort without worrying about your allergies!
