An airline failed to notice a sleeping woman on their aircraft, four hours after it had landed.

The Michigan woman fell asleep on board a Trans State Airliner en-route to Philadelphia, awoke to fnd herslef trapped inside the cabin of the plane four hours after it had landed.

The woman is suing the airline citing ‘false imprisonment.’

Ginger McGuire, 36-years-old, boarded the Trans States plane at the Dulles International Airport, located just outside Washington. And during her flight to Philly, Ginger fell asleep. The plane landed around 12.30am at the Philiadelphia International Airport Group and Ginger claims that the flight crew didn’t even try to wake her, but just left her sleeping in the plane’s cabin.

At around 4am, Ginger woke to find she was alone on board the plane, unable to get out due to all of the doors being locked.

She told WDIV-TV in Detroit, “Waking up to an empty airplane and not being able to get out was very horrifying.”

She said that she walked the isle of the plane for fiften minutes, and that although she had her cell phone, and even used it to check the time, she did not think to call for help. The door finally opened, and Ginger says she was greeted by two Philly police officers and a Transportation Security Administration Officer who quizzed her for about ten minutes.

Geoffrey Fieger, Ginger’s attorney held a press conference with her in Michigan to announce her intention to sue the Trans State Airlines on charges of false imprisonment, neligence, emotional distress, and breach of contract.

They must of had some comfy chairs and pillows on that plane to leave her sound asleep for so long!

Budget hotel group, Travelodge is to host the country’s first sleep concert, with the sole aim of sending its audience into a deep sleep.

Some of the biggest musicians will gather at th London City Road Travelodge at lunchtime on July 20th to hear works by Mozart, Bach, Michael Buble and Snow Patrol. All participants will be given duvets, eyemasks and pillows.

The dozy idea comes after its annual Sleep and Professions study, which listed the top ten professionals who suffered from the most sleep deprivation. The results showed that 75 per cent of Britain’s workforce are not getting their recommended eight hours of sleep.

Civil servants bankers, factory workers, doctors and teachers were the worst affected.

Travelodge sleep director, Leigh McCarron, said, “Sleep concerts have been a great success in Japan where stressed-out workers will pay £50 for the privilege of nodding off to a live music performance.

“This idea has inspired us to create our own UK version, giving exhausted workers the opportunity to relax, take a nap and feel revitalised, resulting in improved physical, mental and emotional health.”

Bedding pillows are often dismissed when it comes to buying furniture and accessories for the bedroom. Most people generally focus on the mattress, bed base and duvet cover and even headboard.

Forgetting your pillow is a crazy idea. Without a decent pillow you probably wont get that good night’s sleep. And we are not being dramatic when we say that. In fact your choice of mattress and pillows is closely linked to your overall health and well being.

An unsuitable pillow can cause general tiredness through lack of sleep, medical complaints such as neck, shoulder and upper back pains. If you are having these problems, then it really is time to change your pillow before you do more damage to your health.

There are a wide range of pillows available and choosing the right one to suit you can be difficult. Some of the most common types of pillows are:

  • Synthetic fibre-filled pillows: often called hollow fibre. These pillows are not expensive and come in a variety of firmness levels, covering most people’s comfort preferences. They are also great for people who are allergic to certain natural materials, however the hollow fibre pillow has a tendency to bunch up after a relatively short period of time, losing their overall shape.
  • Down or feather-filled pillows: a traditional luxury or possibly the most high quality choice. These types of pillows give high levels of softness and comfort. Due to there extreme levels of softness their down-filled pillows are not for everyone and require careful daily airing or ‘plumping’ to maintain their performance every time.
  • Memory foam pillows: Same as a memory foam mattress providing body-moulding support. There are a lot of cheaper versions online that say they are memory foam but are in fact low quality foams that don’t offer the same performance either immediately or long term.
  • Orthopedic pillow: Designed to provide support to different parts of the head, neck and body. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes including ‘L’ shaped or cylindrical forms. Usually made from synthetic or memory foam based.

Here at the duvet and pillow warehouse we stock a huge range of duvets and pillows in a range of materials, however for the hot summer months, our silk range is the most popular for getting a comfortable night’s sleep in the warm and stuffy weather, much better than trying to sleep under a feather, down or synthetic fibre duvet.

Here are five reasons for choosing a silk-filled duvet

1. Silk is light and soft and allows your skin to breathe – allowing excess moisture to escape. Silk duvets assist in regulating your body temperature by keeping you warm in winter, and cool in summer.

2. The criss-cross layers of silk enhance ventilation, resulting in a much more comfortable and restful night’sleep.

3. Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and dust mites can’t live in silk duvets, so you will not suffer from allergic reactions or require a dust-mite encasing on your duvet.

4. Though the silk duvet filling is formed of many layers of criss-crossed silk fibres, the silk floss filling is so fine that the duvet is very thin and light.

5. Silk duvets rarely need cleaning as they are dust mite free.
