A single mother who stole two duvet sets from a supermarket has been fined £50.
Gertrude Cele, 26, tried to get vouchers from Asda in Burnden by picking up two duvets, worth £70, and attempting to trade them in at customer services, Bolton magistrates heard yesterday.
When her attempt failed, mother of three Cele, who is on benefits, tried to walk out of the shop without paying.
Cele was caught on CCTV and arrested at her home in Monks Lane, Tonge Moor, where police found one of the duvets after a search.
She pleaded guilty to the shop lifting and was fined £50 as well as being ordered to pay £35 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
We think Cele should’ve saved up a bit of cash and visited Duvet and Pillow Warehouse for her duvet covers as this autumn the team have slashed the prices of their bedding products, selling high quality products for low prices.
